About Quirino Province

On the southeastern corner of Luzon's Cagayan Valley, nestled in the shadows of the Sierra Madre mountain range, lies the province of Quirino. A young province, Quirino, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021, is nonetheless rich in natural and human resources that make it a prime destination for tourists looking for fresh sites to visit, as well as for businessmen seeking promising investment opportunities.

About Quirino Province

A landlocked province surrounded by majestic mountains and covered by lush forests, Quirino boasts of scenic nature trails, magical rock formations and intricate cave networks. Located on the Upper Cagayan River Basin, it is also blessed with pristine rivers, roaring waterfalls and crystal-clear lagoons. No wonder then that while it is still considered as being off the beaten track, it is slowly emerging as a “must-experience” tourist site, especially for harried urbanites wishing to escape the din and bustle of modern living.

But its scenery and various natural wonders are not the only assets of Quirino. It is also home to industrious, driven and highly educated people (with a 98% literacy rate as of the 2015 census), who through hard work and perseverance, have made the province a key contributor to Cagayan Valley's economic growth.

Despite being the region's youngest province, Quirino is an important producer of palay and corn, as well as of high-value commercial crops such as banana, coffee and cacao. And while it is already being touted as “The Prime Agro-Industrial and Eco-Tourism Destination in the North,” the province is determined to become so much more.

About Quirino Province

A young province, Quirino still has a long way to go before it can achieve its full potential. But the province, under its current enlightened political leadership, is committed to accelerate the process. Towards this end, an ambitious development plan, with a special focus on attracting tourists and investors, has already been set in motion - and continuous to be implemented even during the current COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to make Qurino, which turned 50 years old in 2021, a real golden land of growth. Or, to use the new brand the provincial government is promoting, to make Quirino “Your Basket of Happiness” for tourists, investors and, most important of all, its people.
